Rectory Fete & General Update

The Box Team had a great time at the Rectory Fete where we enjoyed meeting the local community and discussing our plans.

Thank you to all the team who made us very welcome, it was great to receive such positive feedback.

Work is commencing on the Horsham Road at the junction with Froggetts Lane (north/west end) tomorrow (18/09/2017).

Our construction teams are planning to keep disruption to a minimum.  There will be periods of traffic control, this will be not deployed at peak times and will be fully monitored and operated to ensure traffic is kept flowing with the minimum delay.

For further information please call our team on 03301 130 180, they are open from Monday at 0700hrs.

For the latest updates of our plans, please see the interactive map at:  https://www.boxbroadband.co.uk/networks

Headend Cabinet Installed - Walliswood Village Hall

Our new cabinet has now been installed.  As part of the cabinet installation, Box Broadband also carried out improvements to the car parking area.  We would like to thank Walliswood Village Hall and Abinger Parish Council for their assistance with this project.

Next step is completing the connection to the backhaul, we are awaiting updates, further news will be published as we get confirmation.

Froggetts Lane

Our current work in Froggetts Lane is in its final stages, the teams will be starting in Horsham Lane next.

We would like to thank all the local residents for their support and hope the works have caused minimal disruption.

Latest update

We are delighted to announce that after a brief delay we are now commencing the next stage of the initial bridgehead network.

The gaining of the necessary easements and wayleaves has taken longer than anticipated.  Members of the local community have been vital in providing us with valuable local knowledge.

We are additionally in the final stages of agreeing the location of the cabinet and the order is now well advanced relating to the connection of our network to the national fibre optic infrastructure service.

More details will be released as plans are finalised.

From Wednesday 7th, teams will be starting work on the first section of highway, residents will be informed of the proposed works on Monday 5th.  The planned work does not require any road closures, they will be some sections where the sides of the roads will be temporarily sectioned off, with a combination of give and take and stop and go boards in operation.

We aim to carry out the required works causing as least disruption as possible.

The bridgehead will provide network access to Ewhurst (inc. Somersbury Lane) & Ellens Green to the north west, Walliswood to the south and Forest Green to the north east.

The crossing of private land including farm land and fields will enable us to construct our network faster, if you are a local landowner and you feel you are able to offer suitable routes we are very keen to speak with you.  Please call our team on 03301 130 180.

There will be further key announcements over the next few days, please revisit the blog to keep up to date.

All the team at Box would like to extend our sincerest thanks to the Lowerhouse Farm Estate, in particular Mr Martin Stapleton, without his generous donation and access over the estate the progress to date would not have been possible.

Trenchless moling in action

Trenchless moling reduces the need to excavate entire cable routes and minimises the need to close roads.  We are keen to keep our works as low impact as possible and will be informing all properties of any works in their area in advance.

Our Network Construction teams are currently completing the western section.

Fibre optic cables now installed near to the junction with Lower Breache Road and Lyefield Lane, works to be completed by next week.

Box at the Plant Sale

We would like to thank all the members of the Ewhurst Horticultural Society for making us welcome at the Plant Sale this morning.

It was great to meet more local residents and hand out leaflets detailing our new network.

Our team have spent the afternoon visiting customers and taking orders, to book yours please call 03301 130 180. Monday to Friday, 8AM to 6PM.

There are still a lot of local residents who have not yet heard about our exciting new fibre optic broadband network, talk to your neighbours and spread the word, ultrafast broadband is coming!
